It seems as if my Insurance agency (Direct Line Insurance) can’t seem to understand a claim/report that I’ve given them (six times). I have told them what happened to my car and they keep getting their story wrong, even after sometimes the people I talk to say "oh now I see what you’re saying", I still get phone calls and letters claiming some other version that I’ve told them (which I didn’t)
Can I report these to Trading Standards?
yes you can but im not sure how they will help you that way why dont you just send them a letter explaining your version instead of tellin them on the phone

Yes, they will investigate your claim.

Yes if you want to but their is also an insurance regulator as well but why not write them a letter to their director of financial services saying you will be putting your claim through your solicitors an passing on his charges as part of your claim if they cannot rectify your claim within 7 days from the day they receive your letter then send it registered post an get a receipt an make a point of letting them know you have had to resort to this method because of there total lack of customer service an the postal charges will also be added to the claim as will any future mailings. I can guarantee they will soon put things right as they will not want the cost to them to escalate. Now go get them.

Nothing to do with trading standards.
You need to get onto the insurance ombudsman if you are having difficulty getting them to pay out.
I had a similar problem with them and it was only when I mailed the MD and other directors directly that it got sorted out.

bridgesandrew96, For car insurance the quickest method to get a low quote is do a car policy comparison. If you choose the same coverage levels, you can get an accurate quote to compare against others. Use the same zipcode, auto make/model, mileage and driving history to ensure you get an apples to apples comparison. To get mulitple auto quotes, go to http://www.simpleautoquotes.com/Auto-Insurance.html and you can compare all the major auto insurance companies.
